RV, camper and motorhome trip planning toolbox – The best ever created
As the engine of our rented motorhome rumbled to life, my family and I set off on an exhilarating 14-day journey from Brisbane to Melbourne. With our route planner in hand and the excitement of road trip planning fueling our spirits, we were ready to explore the coastal and inland wonders of Australia.
Our adventure began in Brisbane, where we packed our RV with essentials and headed south. Our first major stop was Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast. The kids couldn't contain their excitement as we experienced thrilling rides and met their favorite movie characters.
Next, we continued to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The campervan provided the perfect way to travel, allowing us to stop and marvel at Australia's unique wildlife. Feeding kangaroos and holding a koala were unforgettable experiences for the entire family.
Heading inland, we stretched our legs on the Rocky Point walking track. The panoramic views were breathtaking, and we relished the chance to immerse ourselves in nature before hitting the road again.
Continuing south, we reached The National Motorcycle Museum. The vast collection of classic and vintage motorcycles fascinated us all, and it was a perfect stop to break up the drive. The kids were particularly thrilled to see bikes from various eras.
One of the highlights of our journey was the Bulgandry Aboriginal Art Site. The ancient rock carvings were awe-inspiring, and we took our time exploring and learning about the cultural significance of the artwork. The motorhome made it easy to spend extra time at such enriching stops.
In Sydney, we strolled through the Royal Botanic Garden. The lush greenery and stunning views of the Sydney Opera House provided a tranquil break from the road. It was a beautiful spot for a family picnic.
Leaving the bustling city behind, we headed to Jervis Bay Wild. The pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters were perfect for a day of relaxation and dolphin watching. The kids loved the boat tour, and we all enjoyed the serenity of the bay.
Our next major destination was the National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra. The variety of animals and interactive exhibits kept us entertained for hours. It was another fantastic family-friendly stop on our route.
As we neared the end of our journey, we made a final shopping stop at DFO Uni Hill in Melbourne. The outlet center offered great deals, and we picked up some souvenirs to remember our epic road trip.
Finally, we arrived in Melbourne, our motorhome journey complete. The trip from Brisbane to Melbourne had been a mix of adventure, learning, and bonding. The freedom of traveling in a campervan allowed us to create our own itinerary, stop at unique attractions, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
For those planning a similar route, make sure to have a good road trip plan, stay flexible with your itinerary, and take advantage of the many family-friendly attractions along the way. Happy travels!
