Embarking on a 12-day RV motorhome road trip from Brisbane to Sydney along the East Coast was an incredible family adventure filled with stunning landscapes, exciting activities, and unforgettable memories.
Our journey began in Brisbane, where we loaded up our campervan and set off on our road trip. The kids were excited to be on the road, and our first major stop was Fraser Island. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its pristine beaches, freshwater lakes, and lush rainforests. We spent a day exploring the island, enjoying the natural beauty and spotting wildlife. The kids loved swimming in Lake McKenzie and driving along the famous 75 Mile Beach.
Next, we headed to Byron Bay for a snorkeling adventure. The clear waters and vibrant marine life were a hit with the whole family. The kids were thrilled to see colorful fish and even a few sea turtles. Byron Bay's laid-back vibe and stunning beaches made it a perfect stop on our journey.
Continuing south, we visited The Big Banana Fun Park in Coffs Harbour. This iconic attraction offered a variety of fun activities, including a giant slide, laser tag, and a water park. The kids had a blast, and we all enjoyed some delicious banana treats from the onsite cafe.
In Port Macquarie, we stopped at The Big Oyster Seafood & Cafe for a delicious seafood meal. The fresh oysters and other seafood dishes were a highlight for the adults, while the kids enjoyed the kid-friendly options on the menu.
Newcastle was our next destination, where we enjoyed a relaxing cruise with NOVA Cruises. The scenic tour of the harbor was a great way to see the city from a different perspective. We also visited the Newcastle Museum, which offered interactive exhibits that captivated the kids and provided interesting insights into the city's history.
As we approached Sydney, we made a stop at Birkenhead Point for some shopping. The outlet stores offered great deals, and we picked up some souvenirs to remember our trip. The kids loved the play area, which gave them a chance to burn off some energy.
Our final destination was Sydney, where we visited the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium. The underwater tunnels and diverse marine life were mesmerizing, and the kids were particularly excited to see the sharks and rays up close. Exploring Sydney's iconic sights, such as the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, rounded off our incredible road trip.
Throughout our journey, our RV route planner was indispensable. Road trip planning was essential to ensure we had a well-thought-out itinerary, frequent stops, and plenty of snacks. This approach kept our adventure fun and stress-free, allowing us to make the most of our incredible trip.
