Lapland Wonders: An 8-Day Motorhome Adventure from Luleå
Setting out from Luleå in a rented motorhome, we embarked on an unforgettable road trip through Swedish Lapland, a region filled with cultural heritage, Arctic landscapes, and family-friendly adventures. With the flexibility of our RV, we planned our stops to blend unique attractions, outdoor activities, and local cuisine, making the most of our journey through the north.
Our route took us to Holgers Traktormuseum, where vintage machinery brought history to life. We felt the thrill of the Arctic at Lapland Husky Safaris, meeting enthusiastic sled dogs ready for adventure. A highlight for all ages was visiting Santa Claus Village, where the magic of Christmas is alive year-round—an absolute must for families!
For those who love the outdoors, Ruka Adventures provided plenty of opportunities to explore, whether by hiking, biking, or enjoying seasonal snow activities. Meanwhile, the Musical Forest surprised us with interactive sound experiences, blending nature and creativity.
Continuing our journey, the Turkansaari Open-Air Museum and Friluftsmuseet Hägnan transported us back in time, offering glimpses into Sweden’s rural history. At Tornio Arboretum, we enjoyed a peaceful stroll among diverse plant species, a refreshing stop along the route.
For a touch of science and technology, Teknikens Hus in Luleå provided engaging exhibits for kids and adults alike. And to wrap up the trip, a visit to Hemmagastronomi treated us to local delicacies, a perfect way to savor Lapland’s flavors before heading back.
