RV, camper and motorhome trip planning toolbox – The best ever created
Setting off on an adventure from Perth in a rented motorhome, we embarked on a 9-day road trip that combined the best of Western Australia’s inland wonders with its stunning coast. Our journey was carefully mapped out with a route planner, ensuring we had enough time to enjoy each unique stop while still keeping the trip family-friendly and relaxing.
Our first stop was The Perth Mint, where we learned about Australia’s rich gold history and even held a real gold bar! A fascinating experience for both kids and adults alike, this set the stage for a trip full of discovery and wonder. With our motorhome packed and ready, we headed north, using our RV as a comfortable home on wheels. Each night, we enjoyed the flexibility that comes with campervan travel – stopping wherever we pleased and immersing ourselves in the vastness of the Western Australian landscape.
A must-see on this route was the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre in Nambung National Park. Walking among the mysterious limestone formations rising from the golden sand was like stepping onto another planet. The kids loved exploring these natural sculptures, and the visitor center provided fascinating insights into how these ancient formations came to be. We timed our visit to capture the desert’s beauty at sunset, when the light created long shadows and vivid colors – an unforgettable experience.
Further along, we found ourselves at the Museum of Geraldton, where we dove into maritime history and tales of shipwrecks. The museum’s interactive exhibits made history come alive, and the beautiful waterfront location was perfect for a scenic lunch stop in our campervan. This part of the journey truly showcased the diversity of Western Australia’s coastal landscapes, blending natural beauty with intriguing history.
