Embarking on a 20-day RV motorhome road trip from Whitehorse to Vancouver, including Vancouver Island, was an unforgettable journey filled with family-friendly adventures and breathtaking sights.
Our adventure began at the Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre, where we immersed ourselves in the rich cultural heritage of the Tlingit people. The kids enjoyed the interactive exhibits, and we all appreciated the beautiful art and history.
As we traveled south, the quirky Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake was a fun and unique stop. Adding our own sign to the thousands already there was a memorable family moment. Next, the Fort Nelson Demonstration Forest offered a chance to explore the great outdoors and learn about sustainable forestry practices.
In Fort St. John, the North Peace Museum provided fascinating insights into the region's pioneer history. The kids loved the hands-on exhibits, which made learning about the past exciting. O'Brien Provincial Park was a perfect place for a picnic and some outdoor fun, offering beautiful scenery and a relaxing break from driving.
The Pines Restaurant became a family favorite with its delicious home-cooked meals, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere after a day on the road. The journey through the Canadian Rockies and along the Icefields Parkway was nothing short of spectacular, with awe-inspiring views at every turn. Jasper's rugged beauty and outdoor activities were a highlight for everyone.
Interior Whitewater Expeditions Ltd offered an exhilarating whitewater rafting experience that the whole family enjoyed, adding a splash of adventure to our trip. Cultus Lake Adventure Park was another hit with the kids, featuring thrilling rides and attractions that kept us entertained for hours.
Our visit to Vancouver Island started with a trip to the Hearthstone Artisan Bakery, where we indulged in fresh, delicious baked goods. Chocolate Tofino was a sweet treat, offering handmade chocolates that delighted everyone. Exploring Cathedral Grove, with its ancient, towering trees, was a magical experience, making us feel connected to nature in a profound way.
The Butchart Gardens in Victoria was a feast for the senses, with stunning floral displays and beautifully landscaped gardens that left us all in awe. Our journey concluded with some shopping at the Designer Outlet Vancouver, where we found great deals and enjoyed the diverse selection of stores.
